Variables can hold changeable values, which can be any type of text. In the scripts area, clicking on a variable can give you the value stored inside of it. In Scratch, different from other coding languages, you have to create variables prior to when the program runs. Variables can be made by clicking the Make a Variable button in the Block Pallette.
