Unlike traditional coding, drag and drop coding (also known as block-based programming) allows the user to interact with pre-made visuals and commands. Because of this, drag and drop code is seen as a ‘gateway language’ into other programming languages, such as Java, Python, etc. The particular block-based platform we are using, Scratch, will not only give you the perfect introduction to the computational thinking needed to code, but will also provide you the blocks needed to create a wide variety of programs - some extremely simple and others very complex.
